U13 county champs & U11 Quadkids
(June 27, 2015)
Last Saturday saw the younger members of Haywards Heath Harriers compete in the U11 Quadkids and U13 Track & Field Championships in Brighton. There were some fantastic individual performances. In the U11 Quadkids, Cameron Reed finished in 7th place out of the 57 competing male athletes, followed by Freddie Johnson (17th), Louis Henry (26th) and Amiel Papadopoulos (46th). Sophie Thorne was placed 28th in the girl’s event.
Star of the U13’s was Tishon Alexander-Price who won a silver medal in the 150m and a bronze in the 75m, both with personal best performances. There were also some great runs from Trinity Bird who won her 800m girls race (with a personal best), finishing in 13th place overall from the 3 races, and Joel Skey and Theo Maton who just missed out on a place in the 75m boys final. Sophie Hooper also ran well to finish 4th in the girls 150m heat, despite only just making the race following football trials earlier that day. Completing the U13 line up and running well were Hattie Collins, Isobel Russell, Isobel Claxton, Toby Wiles, Ryan Armstrong and Daniel Southwell.
