Endurance Running
Endurance running is considered as any distance in excess of 'a few miles'. Race distance are from 5km to marathon and encompasses road and off road running.
The majority of senior and vet members train with the endurance group on Tuesday club evenings from 7pm. There are also several groups who run on Thursday evenings and at weekends. We have members of a wide range of age and ability.
There are many races in the region and club members are encouraged to compete on a regular basis. There are also leagues and events which the club is actively involved in, such as:
Sussex Road Race Grand Prix
This is a series of road races throughout the year within Sussex of varying lengths ranging from 5km and upwards. From a selected list of races your best performances are awarded points, according to your finishing position; refer to the website link below for the present races and rules. These points are combined to give your individual performance over the season, and also feed into the club competitions for both performance and participation during the year. The Sussex Grand Prix website keeps you informed of your own performance within your age group and a prize presentation is held in January/February each year to award winning athletes and clubs.
