Provisional SGP Final table
(December 04, 2014)A message from Andy Biggs
In its 30th year the Sussex Grand Prix (Steve Ovett Trophy– Olympic Champion) has been won by Haywards Heath Harriers for the First time in the clubs history. A fantastic achievement for a club with limited resources compared to other competing clubs. As Captain I am proud and privileged to be part of the winning mens & ladies teams and for the 34 athletes that achieved their 8 race goal. This will inspire our current and most important our younger generation of athletes. With hard work and dedication the impossible dream can be possible
I would like to say thank you to all endurance runners and all those that have helped me during the last 3 years. This has been a team success and without this, the dream would not have been possible. There are many names i could mention, but the support of the Committee, the communication and encouragement through email, website, FaceBook, Twitter and the Rob Watts edited Highwayman have all helped in the belief that we could become a team and win, yet enjoy what we love doing and participating and run at races. For our Chair and Editor this year has not been kind in regards to injuries and i for one will look forward in seeing them once again in a Harriers vest.
Here are the provisional results which show all Harriers that competed this year with their relevant totals as in races competed and points won. Also it shows all Harriers that have won an SGP Award. Congratulations to those winners and I do hope that as many Harriers will attend the SGP Awards evening which will be announced soon.
Also for all the 34 yes 34 harriers that completed their 8 races then the club will be presenting a special SGP momento at our own awards evening. Again date and venue to be announced in the new year.
Now is the time to relax and as our festive season approaches, but beware not to relax to much as Barry & Tom will be inspiring you to compete in the X-Country season this winter.
