Wakehurst Willow Results
(July 19, 2019)Another fabulous evening at Wakehurst!
Except for – we ran out of medals! So sorry about that but the good news is the missing box of medals has been found. We are currently working out the best way to get your medal to you.
Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the Wakehurst Willow 8k 2019, the fourth outing for this iconic run. We are so fortunate that Wakehurst allow us to run through their amazing grounds.
First past the post was Kieran Barnes from Lingfield Running Club in 28.41, followed by Ben Gibson of Haywards Heath Harriers in 28.57. First female was Sue McDonald from South London Harriers in 33.48, a course record, and Amelia Brown of Crawley AC was second in 34.26. Full results are here.
We hope everyone enjoyed their run, despite the hills, and that you were still able to take in the beautiful scenery and wildlife.
We had about forty volunteers helping make it all possible – marshals, recorders, results processors, car park stewards etc. We can’t thank you enough.
Our thanks to Ade from Shoot4Goal for providing the start / finish arch. We are grateful too to the Redwoods cafe for staying open and particular thanks to Kari from Wakehurst for driving us round in the golf buggy and providing first aid support.
Already looking forward to 2020!
Ian and Marion, Wakehurst Willow Race Directors, on behalf of Haywards Heath Harriers
