This is an important  announcement to inform all Sussex athletics clubs that there will be an Officials Course at the Lewes track on Sunday 18 March 2018.  This will cover all four track and field disciplines of starter/marksman, timekeeper, track judge and field judge commencing at 10.00 am and continuing until about 3.30 pm.

It is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE that all clubs do all they possibly can to increase the number of qualified officials we have here in Sussex.  Every track club in the county needs to increase the number of qualified officials among its members so please do not ignore this message but advertise it vigorously within your club, encourage your members to register and do all you can to ensure a full house at the course.

The process for going on the track & field training course is as follows: 

1. Go to https://www.englandathletics.org/england-athletics-officials/courses-and-bookings

Click on the line where is says “Click Here to find your nearest Assistant Official or Level 1 course” 

2. Filter the course list on Official Level 1, South East, which shows you several pages including the ones you want. Note down the course reference numbers. 

3. Go to the officials’ page https://www.englandathletics.org/page.aspx?sitesectionid=451&sectionTitle=Officials
   Download the course application form, which is found in the box on the right-hand side of the screen.  There is no online booking for these courses as yet. 

4. Print the form, complete it as required and send off to England Athletics before 2^nd March, with your payment (or ask your club if they will pay for you attending the course).
