Club Road Racing Champs & Phoenix 10k Results
(July 12, 2023)A sunny but windy!! Wednesday evening saw 50 Harriers gather on Hove Lawns for round 2 of the Club's Road Racing Championship at the Brighton Phoenix 10k (well 49 gathered, as 1 was a bit late).
First Male Harrier home was Ben Gibson with a chip time of 34:32 with Russ Mullen only 22 seconds back, and first lady Harrier was Rachael Overton in 43:53 with Ellen Robinson just 21 seconds behind.
However, the Club Champs result is based on the mutant algorithm known as "age grading".
For the men a VERY close result saw the first 6 Harriers covered only by 0.62 points and it was a sprightly JAMES MOFFAT who was top of heap (77.51 pts) followed by Ben Duncan and Ian Kenton.
For the Ladies, despite "taking it easy", Sam Ridley (74.64 pts) was our leader closely followed by Lins Blain and Marion Hemsworth.
Turning to the series standings, there are still 16 Harriers who have logged results in both the opening races and hopefully all will contest the final race (Barns Green Half Marathon on Sept 24th).
The leading Males are James Moffatt, Russ Mullen and Harvey Alcock
The leading Females are Marion Hemsworth, Rachael Overton and Julie Kamel
